Gary Mazo

Gary Mazo has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Gary began their career as a Senior Accountant at Ernst & Young in 1987 and later moved on to become a Lead Auditor at Carolina Power and Light Co. in 1990. Mazo then joined Progress Energy in 1998, where they held various roles, including Principal Risk Analyst and Director of Enterprise Risk Management. In 2012, they transitioned to the Tennessee Valley Authority as the Director of Portfolio Risk Management and eventually became the Vice President of Fuels & Hedging. Mazo's expertise lies in risk management, finance, and portfolio analytics.

Gary Mazo obtained an MBA degree in Finance from Emory University - Goizueta Business School in 1990. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1982 to 1986. Additionally, they hold a Certification in Risk Management Assurance from The Institute of Internal Auditors, obtained in 2011, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners, obtained in 1989.
