Rachelle Watson

Rachelle Watson is an experienced professional in event management and operations, currently serving as Catering Lead for the Australian Open at Tennis Australia since August 2023. As a Partner and Director at The Background since 2006, Rachelle has contributed to creative engagement and event operations, while simultaneously managing self-employed bar operations for major events and music festivals through The Drinks Group Pty Ltd since June 2007. Rachelle has been the General Manager for the St Jerome's Laneway Festival in Melbourne since 2008, overseeing local event management. Rachelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing/Marketing Management from Swinburne University of Technology, earned in 2001, following an earlier Bachelor of Commerce from the same institution from 1999.
