Justin Inslee began their career in 2013 as an Engineering Intern with Boulder Wind Power, where they were responsible for performing testing of conformal coatings for metal and magnet substrates as well as dissimilar metal assemblies under accelerated environmental stresses. Justin also served as a Volunteer at Community Link that same year, working with the community link staff in performing community service alongside disabled adults and later returning as social and physical support with a men’s group in Community Link’s retirement program. In 2014, they became a Club Baseball Player & Captain at the University of Colorado, as well as a First Response Volunteer with PACE-MedSpanish, responsible for taking patients' vital signs, providing basic medical care, and assisting with patient extraction. Justin also worked as an Engineering Intern with Boulder Wind Power that year. In 2015, they began working as a Project Director at Tensentric, where their responsibilities included computer aided design (according to DfM principles for machined, injection molded, thermoformed, die-cut, and sheet metal parts) and analysis (FEA, thermal, etc.), reliability and failure analysis and documentation applying engineering principles (fatigue calculations, root cause investigation, etc.), formal design package generation and configuration management (3d models, drawings, BOMs, etc.). Justin also became a Staff, First Year Class Advisor for the Presidents Leadership Class at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they mentored students, helped develop community service opportunities, and taught a 2-hour recitation for a class of first year students in PRLC 1820, Community Issues in Leadership, a course focused on preparing students for a Human Centered Design approach to problem solving.

Justin Inslee attended Centaurus High School from 2008 to 2012. Justin then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering with a Minor in Leadership Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2012 to 2016. In 2013, they obtained a Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
