Yair Kaufman

Scientist II at TeraPore Technologies

Yair Kaufman has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. In 2021, they are currently working as a Scientist II at TeraPore Technologies, Inc., where they are developing new surface chemistries and characterization techniques to control and measure non-selective adsorption of proteins on surfaces. Additionally, they are a Senior Scientist at Palamedrix. In 2019, they were a Project Scientist at UC Santa Barbara, where they studied the effect of trauma on neurons and the molecular interactions between cells and surfaces. From 2016 to 2021, they were an Assistant Professor at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where they researched the effect of nano-texture on surface wetting and the self-assembly of supported lipid bilayers on nano-textured surfaces. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, where they focused on the effect of nano-texture on surface wetting, self-assembly of lipids and block-copolymers on diverse surfaces, and fundamentals of enhanced oil recovery. From 2008 to 2013, they were a PhD student at Ben Gurion University, where they researched engineering supported lipid bilayers with aquaporins for water purification.

Yair Kaufman obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev between 2008 and 2012.
