Stephen Fleck CEng has extensive experience in engineering and operations management. Stephen began their career in 1980 as an Undergraduate Apprentice at Bombardier in Belfast, where they received training in various departments related to aircraft manufacture. In 1985, they were one of three graduates selected for the Technical Management Training Scheme at Cadbury plc, where they were involved in production management, packaging machinery optimization, and development of innovative automation. In 1987, Stephen began working at Cambridge Consultants as a Senior Consultant, where they were the lead engineer and project manager for a major project for a Swedish client to develop a novel automation system for microwave food processing. Stephen also served as project manager and technical lead for a powder dosing and compaction system for dry powder inhalers. In 1992, Stephen became a Senior Project Manager at THE TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP PLC, where they managed the project team for the design, build and installation of a large biotech facility for Amgen. Stephen also developed automation to manufacture the Femidom contraceptive device and a system for testing dry powder inhalers. In 2003, Stephen joined TTP Labtech as Engineering Director, where they managed the consultancy division, leading the sales activity, contractual negotiations and overseeing several large systems. In 2019, Stephen joined Teraview as Operations Director, where they are responsible for exploiting terahertz radiation for imaging applications.

Stephen Fleck CEng began their educational journey in 1981 when they attained their M.A. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Stephen then completed a post-graduate course in Design, Manufacturing and Management from the same university in 1985. Stephen has also completed a Better Product Design and Realising the Potential of Early Stage Technologies course from the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge. Stephen has a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from ACCA and a Project Management certification from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Finally, they have a Design for Manufacture and Assembly certification from Smallpeice Enterprises.
