David Downing

David Downing has a strong background in software engineering and development. David started their career at GTE in 1987, where they worked as a Software Engineer, focusing on developing and maintaining peripheral device handlers for the GTD-5 telephone switch. David then moved on to Unisys in 1985, where they served as a Principal Software Engineer. During their time at Unisys, they developed and maintained communication software and worked on enhancing the IP layer for TCP/IP communications.

In 1994, David joined Microsoft as a Senior Software Design Engineer. David played a key role in the development and maintenance of enterprise server products, such as BizTalk Server, Host Integration Server, and SNA Server. David contributed to the development of AS/2 encoder/decoder components for BizTalk Server. David stayed with Microsoft until 2007.

After leaving Microsoft, David joined Costco Wholesale in 2008 as an E-Commerce Analyst IV. David was responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining the middle-tier Order Management System for Costco. David also developed scripts using Terraform, Puppet, and PowerShell to automate VM setup and configuration for the development team.
