Senior Social Impact Lead at Terraformation

Meagan Suri has a diverse range of work experience in the environmental and climate change field. Meagan currently works at Terraformation as the Partner Capacity Lead, where they are responsible for managing partnerships and ensuring the success of projects. Prior to this, they held the role of Forestry Partnerships Lead at the same company.

Meagan's previous experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Purdue University from 2018 to 2021, where they conducted research related to their field of study. Meagan also worked as a Climate Change Adaptation Project Impact Evaluation Researcher at the Karnataka State Department of Agriculture in 2017, and as a Climate Change Adaptation Intern at Sistema Nacional de Areas de Conservación (SINAC) & Unión Nacional Agroforestal (UNAFOR) in 2016.

In addition, Meagan has gained experience with research and internships at various organizations. Meagan worked as a Research Fellow at Publish What You Pay - US & Oxfam America in 2015, focusing on research related to social and environmental issues. Meagan also interned at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Virtual Student Foreign Service Intern, and worked as a Staff Ecologist at Cox|McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc. in 2015.

Meagan started their career as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2014, where they researched the impacts of climate change on mangroves and coastal ecosystems, as well as monitored coastal wetland restoration. Meagan has also gained experience as a Biological Science Technician (Plants) at the US Forest Service in 2013, and as a Coordinator at the Hawaii Audubon Society from 2012 to 2013. Overall, Meagan Suri's work experience reflects their passion for environmental conservation and their commitment to addressing climate change.

Meagan Suri's education history includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Affairs from American University, which was obtained from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, they also pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development at the UN Mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica for one year. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Botany at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, from 2010 to 2012. Alongside their formal education, Meagan also obtained a C.O.R.A.L. Certificate (Care of our Culture, Oceans, Reefs, and Animal Life) from the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in 2012.
