Shyan Fung

Shyan Fung has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Software Engineer for Digital System Resources, Inc. for a year. In 2002, they joined Lockheed Martin as an Application Developer, where they designed and implemented a customizable versioning patch tool and a web reporting module. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Software Engineer for General Dynamics Information Technology, where they refactored existing J2EE web application code and migrated the software build process to Maven2. In 2007, they became a Senior Consultant at IBM Global Business Services, where they implemented customized C++ batch interfaces and integrated the CGI Momentum product. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Software Engineer for FASI, porting and developing user front-end components in an enterprise portal environment. From 2010 to 2016, they returned to Metron Aviation and held roles such as Lead Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, where they spearheaded technology refresh and user experience redesign projects, managed and delivered software functionalities, and provided guidance for software migrations. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Senior Technical Architect at SurfWatch Labs, where they designed and implemented a data collection system and migrated the SaaS product's core web and middle tier stacks. Finally, since 2020, they have been working as the Director of DevOps at TerraGo Technologies.

Shyan Fung completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, also from Virginia Tech.
