Shawn A. Wood

Shawn A. Wood has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Shawn A. is currently working at Terran Orbital Corporation as a Product Director since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Area-I as a Program Director from August 2022 to January 2023, where they were involved in the development and testing of swarming capabilities for Air Force programs. Before that, they served as a Division Director at DZYNE Technologies from June 2021 to July 2022, where they successfully established and grew a new corporate division focused on developing AI UAV swarming weapon systems. Shawn A. also worked as a Program Director at the same company from May 2019 to June 2021, leading the development and manufacturing of artificial intelligence small unmanned aerial vehicle weapon systems.

Shawn also has experience working at Northrop Grumman as a Program Manager from June 2008 to May 2019, where they provided leadership to a multi-disciplined team and was responsible for increasing product reliability, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability. Prior to that, they conceptualized, incorporated, developed, grew, and sold Dyneium Inc., a small firm providing engineering and consulting services for military and aerospace industries, from 2004 to 2008. Shawn A. also worked at IHS/iSuppli as a Business Development & Market Analyst from 2000 to 2004, where they provided global market analysis and consulting services to firms in the electronics industry.

Shawn started their career at Murata, where they held various roles including Engineering & Product Marketing Manager. Shawn A. was responsible for business strategy, negotiations, and managing sales for MuRata's flagship product line. Shawn A. also led a team of engineering professionals and played a key role in developing and improving automated manufacturing systems.

In addition to their professional experience, Shawn has participated in various recreational activities such as small UAV piloting, motorcycle customization, machine learning AI, archery, and golf. Shawn A. has also gained experience working as a summer intern for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a materials concrete inspector.

Shawn A. Wood has an extensive educational background. Shawn A. obtained their MBA in Leadership from Pepperdine University, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Elec/Mech Engineering from Penn State University, completing their studies from 1994 to 1998. Before their undergraduate degree, Shawn received an AS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University, studying from 1988 to 1990.

In addition to their formal degrees, Shawn has also acquired several certifications throughout their career. These include Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Thinking Machines from Lynda.com, completed in January 2019, and Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management, completed in August 2018. Other certifications include DOD/Cleared from DoD/PKI in January 2011, and Engineer-In-Training from the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists, obtained in November 1997. Lastly, Shawn holds a Private Pilot VFR Permit from the Federal Aviation Administration, acquired in 1994.
