Andrew Fernsten

Andrew Fernsten is a Senior Fuel Handling Design Engineer at TerraPower since October 2023, specializing in the design and review of fuel handling equipment for nuclear reactors. Previously, Andrew served as Lead Mechanical Engineer at Holtec International from June 2018 to October 2023, where responsibilities included leading a cross-functional team to oversee the entire equipment design process, ensuring efficiency and compliance with client specifications and NRC licensing. Earlier experience includes a role as Mechanical Engineer at Swissturn/USA, Inc. from September 2011 to June 2018, focusing on sales and process engineering, quality control, and project management. Andrew began their career as a Co-op at Casso-Solar Technologies in early 2007. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, awarded in 2008.
