Caitlin Huotilainen

Caitlin Huotilainen is an experienced materials engineer currently serving as Senior Manager at TerraPower since October 2021, where responsibilities include overseeing materials engineering and material testing and qualification. Prior professional experience includes roles at VTT as a Senior Scientist and Research Scientist focusing on nuclear reactor materials research, and as a Doctoral Candidate at CEA specializing in hydrogen diffusion and trapping interactions in model alloys. Caitlin's early career includes positions as a teaching assistant at Chimie ParisTech, research assistant at the University of Rhode Island, and internships at Solvay, Mitkem Inc., and Spectrum Analytical, Inc., where various analytical and material testing skills were developed. Caitlin holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Toulouse INP, as well as dual bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and French Language and Literature from the University of Rhode Island.
