David Shaver

David Shaver is a seasoned operations and engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear energy sector. Currently serving as Manager of Fuel Handling Operations at TerraPower since September 2023, David is responsible for developing and leading fuel handling services for a new commercial nuclear plant in the United States. Prior to this, David held several key roles, including Test Control Center Manager at Thomas Thor, where leadership was provided from pre-core functional testing to fuel load issuance. Additionally, David has held positions at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Southern Company, where significant contributions to integrated plant design and operational coordination were made. With a strong background at Duke Energy Corporation in electrical maintenance and engineering, including reorganization efforts and team leadership, David's career is supported by a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Carolina State University and ongoing studies for a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering at Penn State University.
