George Piccard

George Piccard has a diverse and extensive work experience in the nuclear energy industry. George currently serves as the Site Director for Plant Operations at TerraPower LLC's Natrium Demonstration Reactor since March 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager at the same company from June 2021 to March 2023.

Before joining TerraPower LLC, George worked at AECOM (Now United Engineers & Constructors) as the Director of Nuclear Operations for the Nuclear Services in the Power Business Unit, from an unspecified date in 2017 to May 2021.

From 1997 to 2016, George has held various roles at DTE Energy. These positions include Director of Nuclear Operations (2015-2016), Manager of Nuclear Engineering (2013-2015), Senior Reactor Operator (2007-2013), Manager Radiation Protection (2006-2007), System Engineering Supervisor for Balance of Plant (2000-2006), and System Engineer (1997-2000).

George began their career at ComEd in 1992 as a Qualified Reactor Engineer, and prior to that, they worked as a Resident Associate at Argonne National Laboratory from 1990-1991.

George Piccard received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering in 1989. George then pursued a Master of Science in Engineering in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan from 1990 to 1991.
