Hunter Smith

Hunter Smith is a Senior Nuclear Engineer at TerraPower LLC since October 2021, specializing in nuclear methods software and core design. Prior to this role, Hunter worked at Holtec International from July 2017 to October 2021 as the SMR-160 Core Design and Reactor Physics Lead, conducting criticality safety analyses and shielding analyses for spent fuel transport and storage systems. Hunter's background includes experience as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, where research efforts contributed to academic publications, and involvement in designing a modular high-temperature micro reactor for various applications. Hunter holds a Master of Science in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan, along with previous experience as a summer intern at DTE Energy.
