Peter Thompson

Peter Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Peter currently serves as a General Partner at OrbiMed Advisors, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this, they were a Partner at OrbiMed Advisors from 2013 to December 2021, and a Venture Partner from 2010 to 2013.

In addition, Peter is the CEO and Co-Founder of Terremoto Biosciences, starting in August 2021. Peter also co-founded and served as Chairman of Silverback Therapeutics from April 2016 to April 2020, and as Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO from April 2016 to the present.

Furthermore, Peter has held leadership positions in various other companies. Peter was the Chairman and Co-Founder of Edgewise Therapeutics, starting in 2017. Peter co-founded Corvus Pharmaceuticals in November 2014 and Cleave BioSciences in 2010, where they served as a Director. Peter also had a role as Chairman of the Board at Principia Biopharma from 2013 to 2019.

Before their current roles, Peter was the CEO and Managing Director of Strategicon Partners from 2001 to 2013, and the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Trubion Pharmaceuticals from 2002 to 2009.

Additionally, Peter has an academic affiliation with the University of Washington as an Affiliate Professor in Neurosurgery since January 2010. Overall, their extensive work experience showcases their expertise and leadership in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Peter Thompson obtained their Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Mathematics from Brown University, where they studied from 1977 to 1981. Peter then pursued further education in the field of medicine, earning their M.D. from Brown Medical School between 1980 and 1984.
