Rebecca Freilich

Rebecca Freilich has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences. Rebecca is currently employed at Terremoto Biosciences as a Senior Scientist since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at REVOLUTION Medicines as a Scientist II in the Discovery Sciences department from January 2020 to April 2022.

Rebecca also has experience in academia, having worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University from October 2018 to December 2019. During their tenure, they focused on evaluating candidate prion proteins in yeast using a biochemical approach and successfully secured two postdoctoral fellowships.

Rebecca'sresearch in the Gestwicki lab involved characterizing Hsp27's protein-protein interactions, utilizing various biochemical and biophysical techniques. Rebecca also designed peptides and conducted a tethering screen to identify leads for small molecule modulators of Hsp27.

Rebecca gained industry experience as a Catalyst Awards Intern (Therapeutics Track) at the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute from March 2016 to June 2016. In this role, they evaluated early translational therapeutic track proposals, performed market research, and conducted competitive landscape analysis for a winning proposal.

Additionally, Rebecca began their research journey as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Arora lab at New York University from January 2010 to May 2012. Rebecca'sresponsibilities included designing and synthesizing hydrogen bond surrogate (HBS) alpha helical mimetics, as well as testing HBS peptides using a fluorescence intercalator displacement assay.
