Stephen Harwood

Stephen Harwood is a seasoned scientist currently serving as a Senior Scientist in Chemistry at Terremoto Biosciences, with a focus on small molecule drug discovery of 'undruggable' targets since July 2024. As the President and Founder of Project SCIFI since 2017, Stephen has spearheaded initiatives that support students' scientific pursuits, providing resources to educators and fostering mentor-mentee relationships. Previous experience includes a Principal Scientist role at Mirati Therapeutics, leading drug discovery efforts on oncology targets, and a Graduate Researcher position at Baran Lab, specializing in synthetic organic chemistry. Stephen holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Scripps Research and a B.S. in Chemical Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
