Maria Ngawati

Maria Ngawati is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in community health, education, and social services. As a Founding Member of IndigiShare, Maria supports Māori and Indigenous SMEs in accessing loans through a crowdfunded platform. Maria currently serves on the TEC Workforce Development Council and holds leadership roles as CEO and Founder of AkoMaiWay and Director at Maria Pūtea Whakatupu Trust. Additionally, Maria works as a consultant in education, public health, and digital innovation while contributing as the National Coordinator at Hapai Te Hauora and leading research projects at Ako Aotearoa. With a strong academic background in health sciences, including multiple degrees and a professional doctorate candidacy in Indigenous Advancement, Maria is committed to implementing positive change within communities and enhancing the wellbeing of Māori peoples.
