Nico Mertens

Nico Mertens is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in supply chain management and procurement. Currently serving as the Global Commodity Manager for Distributed Products at Terumo BCT since November 2014, Nico Mertens drives the commodity strategy by optimizing purchasing practices, managing supplier performance, and reducing costs and risks. Previously, in the role of Leuven Materials Manager, responsibilities included overseeing the planning and purchasing of necessary inventories for production needs. Nico Mertens has also held positions at Terumo Europe as the Teamleader for the Medical Electronics Support Group and Inventory Planner, as well as serving as Production Manager at Bluways, and Engineering Services Supervisor at Donaldson, where expertise in project management and quality assurance was developed. Education was completed at Provinciaal Normaalschool Leuven.
