Tuija Turunen

Tuija Turunen serves as the Chief Psychologist and Psychotherapist at Terveystalo, where responsibilities include developing and implementing mental health services at the Center of Excellence for Mental Health. With a longstanding role as a guest researcher at the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) since 2008, Tuija's research has focused on the recovery of survivors from school shootings, contributing findings to international journals and conferences. Tuija also maintains a private practice and has previously held the position of Chief Psychologist at Diacor terveyspalvelut Oy. Experience as a clinical psychologist spans various roles within the Hospital District of South Ostrobothnia, particularly in child and adolescent psychiatry. Tuija holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Tampere and has pursued extensive training in EMDR and psychotherapeutic methods.
