Ajay Unagar

Ajay Unagar is a seasoned professional in robotics and machine learning, currently serving as a Senior Robotics Machine Learning Engineer at Tesla since June 2025. Prior experience includes roles as an Applied Scientist at Geomagical Labs from November 2021 to June 2025, focusing on 3D computer vision and deep learning, and a Research Assistant at ETH Zurich's Chair of Intelligent Maintenance Systems, where projects involved reinforcement learning and graph learning. Additionally, Ajay contributed to path planning for legged robots during a master's thesis at the Robotic Systems Lab and gained practical experience as a student intern at IBM, working on continual learning for image classification. Ajay holds a Master's degree in Computational Science (Robotics) from ETH Zürich and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
