Ajay Unagar

Ajay Unagar is a Senior Robotics Machine Learning Engineer at Tesla, focusing on Optimus AI since June 2025. Prior to this role, Ajay worked as an Applied Scientist at Geomagical Labs from November 2021 to June 2025, specializing in 3D Computer Vision and Deep Learning. AJay's academic background includes a Master of Science in Computational Science (Robotics) from ETH Zürich and dual Bachelor of Technology degrees in Civil Engineering and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Ajay has held various positions including Research Assistant at ETH Zurich, contributing to projects in reinforcement learning and graph learning, and completed a Master Thesis on global path planning for legged robots.
