Andrew Schaefer

Andrew Schaefer is a highly experienced engineer specializing in materials science and electrochemistry, with a focus on battery technology. Currently functioning as a Staff Cell Materials Test Engineer at Tesla since February 2024, Andrew previously held positions such as Principal Battery Scientist at Our Next Energy and Senior Engineer for Advanced R&D Platform Development at QuantumScape. Andrew's expertise encompasses development and deployment of experimental methods, data analysis tools, and coordination of electrochemical testing, aimed at enhancing cell performance and efficiency. Throughout Andrew's career, significant contributions were made to advanced characterization techniques at DuPont, along with extensive research during a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University.
