David Brandon

David Brandon has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. David is currently working as a Senior Principal Engineer at Tessera Therapeutics starting from January 2024. Prior to this, they served as a Staff Software Engineer at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. from July 2022 to December 2023.

From August 2021 to July 2022, David worked at Gritstone bio as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were the lead programmer for internal use business software. David also held the position of Senior Software Engineer at the same company from July 2019 to July 2021.

Before joining Gritstone bio, David was self-employed as a consultant from May 2018 to June 2019, providing independent IT consulting for small businesses.

From April 2011 to April 2018, David worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Wolters Kluwer, where they played a crucial role in designing and implementing a system for managing medical treatment articles.

Prior to that, David served as a Senior System Designer/Developer at AstraZeneca from October 2004 to April 2011, where they designed and implemented a system for scientists to query and visualize high-throughput screening information.

David also has experience as the Manager of Information Technology at Variagenics from June 2002 to May 2003, and as a Programmer at MIT, where they developed software to teach parrots vocabulary from April 2002 to May 2002.

In addition, David held the position of Senior Developer at Presto Technologies from April 2001 to March 2002, writing software for online payments using RFID tags, and as a Senior Development Engineer at Aspen Technology, Inc. from January 1997 to April 2001, where they converted a large code base to C++ and created and supported the build systems.

David Brandon obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College. David also obtained additional certifications in "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera in 2017.
