Bringing more than twenty years of experience in Human Resources, including more than a decade in public schools, Mia has served public, private and non-profit organizations.
As Chief Human Resources Officer, she oversees all aspects of the employment cycle including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, certification, evaluations, and certain areas of professional development.
A proud Louisiana native, Mia holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University as well as a master’s degree from Amberton University. She is certified through the Society of Human Resource Management (PHR), the Texas Association of School Business Officials (CTSBS), and the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (Superintendent).
Most recently, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer for DeSoto Independent School District, following eight years with Irving ISD as Director of Compensation, Benefits, and HR Systems.
Mia and her husband, Kelvin, who also serves in education, have three children, Ciara, Kelvin Jr., and Kaiya; and two grandchildren, Jason and Marley.
