Derek Murphy

Derek Murphy, M.Ed., currently serves as Assistant Principal at Texarkana Independent School District since July 2023 and has been the Lead Pastor at ROSE HILL CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST since July 2018. Previously, Derek was a Teaching Professional for 8th Grade Social Studies at Texarkana ISD and spent time as an ISS Paraprofessional at Liberty Eylau I.S.D., where responsibilities included classroom management and character mentoring. Derek is also the owner of Derek J. Murphy Enterprises since December 2015 and has a rich background in church leadership, having founded The Kingdom Church and served as Youth Department President for Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. Education includes a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University, along with degrees from Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Texarkana College.
