Mike Fossum

Mike Fossum serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Texas A&M University Galveston Campus since March 2017. Prior to this role, Mike had a distinguished career at NASA, serving as an astronaut for 18.5 years and as an engineer for five years, having begun at NASA in January 1993. Earlier in the career, Mike worked as a Flight Test Engineer for the United States Air Force from January 1985 to September 1992, focusing on flight testing the F-16 aircraft and various advanced programs. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, and a Master's degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Training included completion of the USAF Test Pilot School in 1985.
