Adam Costanzo

Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi

Adam Costanzo earned his Ph.D. in American History from the University of California, Davis in 2012. While at Davis he produced a dissertation which examined the relationship between the federal government and the residents of the District of Columbia, and the impact of this changing relationship on the capital's development. A book based on that work called 'George Washington's Washington: Visions for the National Capital in the Early American Republic was published in 2018 by the University of Georgia Press.

Before joining the faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2013, Dr. Costanzo spent a year teaching at Wiley College, a historically-black, liberal arts college in Marshall, Texas. At TAMU-CC, he's been responsible for teaching “United States History to 1865” and “United States History since 1865,” as well as an online versions of those surveys, "The Ancient World," "Urban History," and "The Early American Republic.”
