Bernadine Cervantes

Assistant Clinical Professor at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi

As a Beeville, Texas girl, with big dreams, Dr. Cervantes received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and M.S. from Corpus Christi State University. In 2013, she received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi.

Her 33-year career with the Corpus Christi Independent School District began as a middle school teacher and led her to serve as a school principal at the elementary, middle and high school education levels. Her successful experiences as a teacher and school administrator advanced her to serve as Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership Services in 2006, until her retirement in 2015. Each of these leadership roles afforded her valuable experiences and special relationships with students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents, professors and leaders within the district, community and across the states.

Since 2013, Dr. Cervantes has served as an adjunct professor for both undergraduate and graduate students at TAMUCC. Her passion for teaching and leadership has come full circle as she joins the TAMUCC Educational Leadership Department as Clinical Assistant Professor and Principal Certification Coordinator.
