Sharon Derrick

Forensics Coordinator & Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi

Dr. Derrick is the Coordinator of the Forensic Science Program and Assistant Professor in the Life Sciences Department of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She received her doctorate in Physical Anthropology from Texas A&M University-College Station, trained as a Forensic Anthropologist at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, and earned her board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Anthropology in 2013. She spent 12 years as a full-time forensic anthropologist in a busy urban medical examiner’s office prior to her move to Texas A&M—Corpus Christi in September 2018. Her research interests include medicolegal personal identification, and bone reactions to injury and pathological conditions.
