John Sharp

John Sharp is the current Chancellor at TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY SYSTEM,THE. Prior to this, they served as Comptroller of Public Accounts from January 1990 to December 1998. In 2007, they helped spearhead Texas Proposition 15, a bill that sought to establish grants for cancer research, grants for cancer prevention and control programs in Texas to mitigate the incidence of cancer, and the purchase of laboratory facilities. John acted as Treasurer for the supporting political action committee, Texans to Cure Cancer. proposition 15 passed by a wide margin in November 2007. From January 2005 to December 2006, they served as Chairman of the Texas Tax Reform Commission.

John Sharp has a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Public Administration from Texas State University.
