Jay Clingman

Vice Chairman, Commercial Banking at Texas Capital Bank

Jay Clingman serves as the Vice Chairman of Commercial Banking for Texas Capital. In his role, he is responsible for delivering industry expertise and developing commercial strategy to expand the bank’s client base, while working closely with all areas of Commercial Banking, including Corporate, Middle Market, and Business Banking.

Clingman joined Texas Capital Bank in November 2021, offering more than three decades of experience in key regional markets across Texas while he worked at JPMorgan, where he most recently served as Managing Director and Region Manager of Middle Market Banking in North Texas and Oklahoma. In this role, he led efforts to bring investment banking, credit, and treasury solutions to private and public companies.

During his career at JPMorgan, Clingman also held the roles of Managing Director and Region Head for San Antonio and South Texas; Managing Director of the Private Bank, responsible for all private banking efforts in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston; and was responsible for leading statewide efforts for Capital Markets selling fixed income securities to companies and high net worth individuals.

Clingman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas – San Antonio. He is FINRA Series 63, 24, and 79 certified.
