Vince Ackerson

Vice Chairman at Texas Capital Bank

Vince Ackerson serves as vice chairman of Texas Capital Bank, a role he assumed in July 2019. He is a key executive advisor on strategies to profitably grow the bank, especially in the areas of emerging and high-growth business opportunities. He also has oversight for the bank’s Mortgage Finance and Lender Finance businesses.

As a founding member of Texas Capital Bank, Ackerson has been integral to the bank's growth and success. Before it became Texas Capital Bank, he was an organizer, shareholder, and director of Resource Bank Dallas, which established Texas Capital Bank's charter. Since the Texas Capital Bank’s founding in 1998, he has held roles of increasing responsibility due to his smart, focused, and knowledgeable approach to serving clients' banking needs. In the early days, he served as president of the Dallas region, and in November 2008, his role expanded to president of the five major markets in Texas plus specialty lending groups, in addition to his role as chief lending officer.

Prior to joining Texas Capital Bank, Ackerson was president of Mack Financial Group, Inc., where he successfully negotiated the purchase of the commercial finance division of a Fortune 500 company, provided financial consulting to a Fortune 100 company, and headed the merger and acquisition work for a large NASDAQ-listed company. Earlier, Ackerson served as founder, shareholder, and director of Texaka Bank’s effort to forge a successful banking venture in the former Soviet Union. He started his career at First National Bank in Dallas.

Ackerson earned his bachelor of science in business administration and master of business administration degrees from Louisiana State University.

Ackerson serves on the Board of Directors for the former SMU Athletic Forum, Senior Source, and DOWNTOWNDALLAS.
