Claire Sanders currently serves as the Provost Faculty Fellow for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the inaugural Diversity Advocate for Academic Affairs at Texas Christian University, a position held since August 1998. In this role, Claire leads DEI strategies and coordinates the integration of DEI as a core competency in the TCU Core Curriculum. Claire's previous experience includes teaching undergraduate courses in Modern European history and serving as Co-Director of the African American and Africana Studies Minor at TCU. Claire also held positions at the University of Wisconsin, Eau-Claire, and Wabash College, where Claire taught various history courses. Claire's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Modern European History and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies from Mount Holyoke College. Prior to academia, Claire co-owned and managed a restaurant, overseeing daily operations and staff.
