Caroline Mays

Caroline Mays, AICP, currently serves as the Director of Planning and Modal Programs at the Texas Department of Transportation, overseeing freight transportation planning and international trade since November 2012. Previously, Caroline held multiple roles at the Atlanta Regional Commission, including Interim Director of Freight and International Trade and Principal Transportation Planner, focusing on freight logistics and regional transportation planning from December 2001 to January 2009. Earlier experience includes a role as a Transportation Planner for the County of Rockland, where responsibilities spanned strategic transportation investments and public outreach. Caroline began a career with an internship at the United Nations in 1997, assisting in organizational tasks for the UN Center for Human Settlements. Caroline holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
