Kristen Smith

Kristen Smith currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Civil Rights Division at the Texas Department of Transportation since November 2022. Prior to this role, Kristen held the position of Central Texas Regional Leader at OTHON ENGINEERING from January to November 2022 and served as the Director of Industry Affairs with the Associated General Contractors of Texas from October 2005 to January 2022. Kristen’s earlier experience includes the role of Director of Publications at AGC of Texas and Policy Analyst at the Texas Department of Transportation. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Bryan High School between 1994 and 1997.
