Brooks Straub

Brooks Straub, Ed. D., currently serves as the Executive Director of School Safety and Operations and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Commissioner of Education at the Texas Education Agency since September 2021. In addition to these roles, Brooks serves as an Adjunct Professor at Houston Baptist University, teaching Methods of Quantitative Educational Resource since May 2022. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Houston ISD as Director and Chief of Staff and Director of Schools, as well as roles at Lamar High School as an Instructional Technologist and Assistant Principal. Brooks's earlier career includes a position as an Educator at lululemon athletica and service in the United States Marine Corps as an Arabic Linguist. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, along with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston.
