Shweta Karnik is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Cardiovascular Fluids Mechanics Lab since August 2021. Shweta also serves as a Pre Doctoral Fellow with both The Children's Heart Foundation and the American Heart Association, starting in January 2023, and has been a Research Affiliate and Research Engineer II at the Texas Heart Institute since March 2020. Prior experience includes roles as a Software Testing Intern at ANSYS, Inc., and Research Intern at Texas Heart Institute, where Shweta conducted experimental analysis and simulations on blood flow and magnetic models. In the realm of academia, Shweta has held positions as an Instructional Assistant at the University of Houston and as a Graduate Assistant focusing on Open Educational Resources. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat Technological University.
