Anita Scott is an accomplished education professional with extensive experience in leadership and curriculum development. Currently serving as the Director of Public Policy at Texas Home School Coalition since November 2022, Anita has previously held significant roles, including Assistant Principal at Uplift Education, where responsibilities involved staff management, teacher coaching, and implementation of instructional initiatives. Anita also designed a successful English and Writing Intervention program that led to improved student performance. A recipient of the Middle School Teacher of the Year award in 2015, Anita has taught at various educational institutions and held roles in tutoring and faculty positions. Anita holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Urban Schools from Southern Methodist University, as well as degrees in English and Interdisciplinary Education.

Texas Home School Coalition
The Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) is the state organization for home schooling and is dedicated to serving the home school community of Texas and promoting a greater knowledge, understanding and acceptance of home education in our state. Its Board of Directors and worldview is distinctively Christian, but it serves all Texas home schoolers regardless of race, creed, or religion. Our mission is to serve and inform the home school community and promote home education in Texas.
