Mary Woodard

Mary Woodard currently serves as President of the Texas Library Association, a position held since April 2022. Previously, Mary held the role of Director of Library Services for Mesquite Independent School District from June 2002 to June 2022, focusing on the supervision of staff, professional development for librarians, and the vision for modern school libraries. Additional experience includes serving on the Executive Board of the Texas Library Association from 1988 to 2018, as well as various librarian roles within Mesquite Independent School District from 1987 to 2002, where responsibilities included managing library automation and promoting literacy among students. Mary earned a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and English from Baylor University.
