Lauren Castro

Lauren Castro is an experienced journalist and social media editor currently working at Texas Monthly since January 2023. Prior to this role, Lauren served as a general assignment reporter at The Daily Dot from January 2022 to January 2023 and worked as a marketing and communications producer at The Drag from January 2022 to August 2022. Additional experience includes a student assistant position at the Moody School of Journalism and an editorial internship at Texas Monthly. Lauren's internship experiences also span Flaunt Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, and TexasTasty, along with a role as a life and arts associate editor and general reporter at The Daily Texan. Lauren holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin, obtained in 2022.
