Kathryn Lurie

Editor-in-charge, Social Media at Reuters

Kathryn Lurie is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in editorial leadership. Currently, Kathryn serves as the Editor-in-Charge of Social Media at Reuters since April 2019. Prior to this role, Kathryn was with The Wall Street Journal from September 2008 to April 2019, holding positions as Emerging Media Editor, Digital Features Editor, and Online Editor, where responsibilities included leading the creation of a daily edition for Snapchat and overseeing digital content and an evening-shift team. Kathryn also contributed to the academic field as an Adjunct Professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY from 2012 to 2017, teaching various journalism courses. Early in Kathryn's career, internships at Marie Claire and ABC News, along with an editorial role at Metroland, laid a strong foundation for expertise in journalism. Kathryn holds a Master's degree in Business Reporting from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and a BA in Communication and Journalism from the University at Albany.
