Laurel Garcia is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Senior Director Of Continuing Education at the Texas Charter Schools Association since June 2020, focusing on connecting charter school leaders and school boards to high-quality educational resources and contributing to the organization of Texas's only charter schools conference. Prior to this, Laurel worked as an IEP Manager at KIPP Texas Public Schools - Austin from July 2013 to June 2020, where responsibilities included compliance oversight within a significant charter school district. Laurel's earlier roles included Intervention Specialist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology at East Austin College Prep (2011-2013), and Special Education Coordinator at Austin Can! Academy (2006-2011), showcasing extensive expertise in special education and psychology. Laurel holds a Master of Science in School Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arkansas Tech University.
