Courtney Abernethy is an experienced professional with a strong background in development and public relations, currently serving as the Major Gifts Officer at the Texas Public Policy Foundation since January 2025. Previously, Courtney held the position of Director of Development at The Source Texas and has extensive experience in volunteer coordination and project management from a self-owned venture. Courtney's expertise encompasses creative services, marketing, branding, events, and fundraising, with a focus on non-profit organizations, including independent schools, political and religious groups, as well as arts and films with impactful messages. Earlier roles include Director of Advancement at LifeHouse of Houston, Inc., and Director of Young Lives at Young Life. Courtney's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising/Public Relations and Spanish, along with a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Texas Christian University.
