James Carpenter

Ciso/cto at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children

James Carpenter started their work experience in 2003 as a Sr. Network Engineer at Dell Services. In 2006, they joined Parkland Health & Hospital Systems as a CSO, and later became the Chief Technology Officer. In 2015, they worked as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of Security (DSO) at Medicalistics, LLC, before becoming the CISO/CTO at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

James Carpenter obtained a Master's degree in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they also earned a Master's degree in Strategic Leadership from Northwood University from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications including CISA from ISACA in December 2014, CISSP from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) in July 2014, and CISM from ISACA in January 2014.
