Marian Houser

Marian Houser is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in communication studies, currently serving as Chair and Professor at Texas State University since September 2004. With a focus on instructional communication, Marian is recognized as an Instructional Communication Scholar and has contributed significantly to the field as an author and editor, including works such as "Your Interpersonal Communication" and "The Handbook of Instructional Communication, 3rd edition." Prior roles at Texas State University-San Marcos include Professor and Interim Chair, as well as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Marian's educational background includes a PhD in Communication from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a MA in Communication Studies from Miami University, alongside an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
