Barbara Breznik

Barbara Breznik is a Fulbright Scholar at Texas Tech University since November 2022, focusing on the role of MAGE proteins in glioblastoma therapy resistance. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Ljubljana since April 2021, Barbara leads the Cancer Biochemistry subject. Barbara also serves as Group Leader and Scientific Associate at the National Institute of Biology and has been involved in extensive research on glioblastoma, including projects on tumor biopsies, biomarkers, and therapeutic resistance. Previous roles include a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA, where Barbara researched immunotherapy for glioblastoma, and several positions as a Visiting Researcher. Barbara holds a PhD in Nanosciences from Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School and a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Ljubljana.
