Michael Kennon

Michael Kennon has extensive experience in fire safety and emergency management, currently serving as Fire Marshal at Texas Tech University since June 2017. Prior to this role, Michael was a Fire Marshal at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from January 2010 to June 2017 and served in the same capacity at Texas Tech University from March 2004 to January 2010. Additionally, Michael has a long tenure as a retired firefighter with West Carlisle FIRE/EMS from January 2005 to January 2025. Michael's military background includes service as an Infantry Soldier in the Texas Army National Guard from February 1987 to February 1995. Academically, Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Animal Sciences from West Texas State University, completed between 1987 and 1998, and an Associate's degree in Animal Sciences from Clarendon Jr. College, earned between 1984 and 1986.
