Obumneke Ohiaeri is a PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant at Texas Tech University, specializing in the functioning of semiarid ecosystems under changing environmental conditions through an integrative systems approach. Current research encompasses fieldwork, greenhouse activities, and laboratory tasks involving the construction of growth chambers, sensor calibration, and data collection. Additionally, Obumneke serves as an AAUW Fellow and has held various roles including GIS Professional for the City of Garland and Soil Scientist/GIS Analyst Consultant for Agricultural Systems. Previous experience includes GIS Analyst positions with USAID MARKETS, Chemonics International, and Crofting Commission. Obumneke holds a PhD in Plant & Soil Science from Texas Tech University, a degree in Geospatial Information Systems from the University of Aberdeen, and a degree in Soil Science from the University of Calabar.
