Kirk Jensen

Photogrammetric Chief Software Engineer at Textron Systems

Kirk Jensen has diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Kirk started their career at Jasc Software in 1998, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer on projects such as the Paint Shop Pro consumer graphics product and the Jasc WebDraw SVG Editor application. Kirk also participated as a technical editor and contributor to the W3C SVG specification. In 2002, they moved on to Sandia National Laboratories, where they served as a Postdoc until 2006. During this time, they gained experience in various research projects. From 2006 to 2011, Kirk worked at PIXIA Corp as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2011, they joined Image Matters LLC as a Principal Software Engineer, and they remained there until 2016. During this time, they held a key role in software development. Since 2016, Kirk has been working at Textron Systems as the Photogrammetric Chief Software Engineer, focusing on the RemoteView Pro ELT, satellite and airborne systems, and SAR imaging. Kirk Jensen has a strong background in software engineering and expertise in geospatial imagery and imaging systems.

Kirk Jensen obtained their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago between the years 1994 and 1998. Kirk'sresearch focused on Laser Diagnostics for Droplet Combustion. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction, Cum Laude, in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware from the years 1991 to 1994. Kirk Jensen also briefly attended Towson University in 1990-1991, where they studied Physics and Engineering, although the degree obtained is unknown.
