Sylvia Pierson

Sylvia Pierson serves as the Director of Communications and External Relations for WashOps at Textron since January 2023, providing strategic communications counsel to Washington Operations leadership and fostering collaboration among Textron business units. Prior to this role, Pierson was the Director of Communications & Marketing at Textron Aviation Defense from June 2017 to January 2023, focusing on global security cooperation across defense products. Additional experience includes serving as the F-35 Naval Variants Public Affairs Officer for the US Navy, where strategic communications were delivered in support of the F-35 program, and establishing a Communications Department at Jorge Scientific Corporation, alongside roles in various organizations emphasizing internal communications, investor relations, and organizational change management. Pierson holds a BA in Literatures in English from UC San Diego and a MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
